End of Life - Basic Auth

Announcement - 01/05/2022

Microsoft has announced, effective October 1, 2022, it will begin to permanently disable Basic Authentication. IT previously announced in March 2021 that we were beginning to disable Basic Auth except for those accounts exempted. Accounts exempted will have Basic Auth disabled starting on Jan 24, 2022

- Individuals using clients or apps that use Basic Auth should move forward in replacing it with a client or app that uses Modern Auth.
- If you are currently using one of the below clients or apps and unable to connect, you may need to remove and re-add the client profile.
- If you are using an account for device authentication, such as a scanner or printer, submit a help ticket to be added to the LSMTP allow relay list.
- If you are using an account for device authentication, that uses SMTP Auth and it cannot be switched to Modern Auth. Please provide a business case for allowing an exception.
